Crystal revisited.

Here are a few more shots of my friend Crystal.  These were shot well over a year and a half ago.  We had a lot of fun doing these.

Who is Xtian Maiko..?

Finally collaborated with my homie Xtian for a shoot.  First location was just weird, lots of cat food and flies. Second was ok but I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would.  Oh well. I think the pictures came out dope.

Who is..

Alpha Industries Inc.

Helped out my friend Jeff of F.O.T.N Photography with this Alpha Industries Inc. shoot.  We had a lot of fun and the pictures went up on their site and lookbook amongst other things like the flier below.

I shot these for a local Fashion Store.  Of course you can see more from this set by clicking any one of these images.

Meet Crystal K.

I like to work with my friend Crystal not just because she is fun to hang out with but also because we have been friends for a long time.  This shot below is from a shoot we did today.  The location is on the grounds of one of the local community colleges.  As usual it was a blast.

My lighting was one 580EX II high from the left in a Westcott Apollo on a boom stand.  The Speedlight was triggered via an ST-E2.

Meet Angela

I Took these pictures a while back of a local model named Angela.  She was a great model and gave me a lot of leeway in in working on the images.  Here are a few from the shoot.

As you can see I did my usual thing and went two drastically different ways in post-processing.  I’m working on keeping that to a minimum.

Meet Seiko

She is the first model I shot on a client basis. I had shot some firends before and had done pretty well so I decided to jump in head first. We must have spent several hours shooting one rainy Sunday. She was great for putting up with me and my unfamiliar equipment. Which I might add is one of the first lessons I learned, don’t go into a shoot with unfamiler equipment. Test it, play with it, I don’t care what you do so long as you know it before you really use it. Anyway, we spent quite a lot of time and hundreds of shots for just a few good ones.

This was all done quite some time ago, over 3 years in fact and was my first use of off camera flash before I even heard about Strobist. I will try and remember what I used for these shots but I’m sorry you’ll only get the basics.

The place we chose to shoot was a well lit white roomed staircase that was surrounded by windows which allowed for my favorite type, nice and diffused overcast light coming through the windows on the right. I also used one Speedlite with a Shoot Thru Umbrealla (STU) on the right as key and let the ambient window light fill the rest.

In this image the window light was coming from the left, behind and off the wall on the right. So I used one flash from the right facing Seiko dead on so the rest of the light was shooting through the image and bouncing off the white wall and the abundance of window light was used as the key light.
